PURPOSE

Fields Ertel Road has seen a large amount of development over the past 20 years. In order to effectively maintain the roadways, as well as protect the health, safety, and well-being of local residents, it is necessary to study the corridor for places where road improvements are needed. KZF Design Inc. has been chosen to report the existing road conditions and suggestion of improvements that can be made to the area. This process involves inventory and analysis of:

• past studies done on the area

• accident reports

• traffic volumes

• turning movements

• number and width of roadways

• locations of signals

• locations of problem areas

• safety issues/concerns

• calculation of future traffic volumes

• evaluation of existing infrastructure

Recommendations will then be made by KZF in the form of a report that will identify short-term and long-term improvements that will:

• accommodate the existing and future traffic volumes in an efficient manner

• improve overall safety
• improve level of service
• improve or maintain access to properties
